Books I Want to Re-read This Year

I've hit a bad reading slump recently, which is such a nightmare for us readers, am I right? One of the things that I find very helpful when the reading slump strikes is to re-read some of my old favourites. Therefore, I sat down and compiled a list of six books I am planning on re-reading in the near future. I believe that re-reading books is really important. You can learn so much about your own self when revisiting your favourite books. You can also discover how much you've changed since the first time you read the book. And most importantly, you are reminded of the things you like and value, which can be very inspiring and helpful in your life. So I would like to encourage you to make time and read some of your dearest stories again. I am certain you won't regret it...

Number one on my list is of course Marcelo in the Real World by Francisco X. Stork. It's been five years since I first read this book, and I feel I need to read it again, for I need to be reminded of the important things in life. Marcelo is such an inspiring character, which I am so often thinking about. I belive that world would be so much better a place to live in had people been at least half as kind as him...

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë is one of my all time favourite classics. I love this book so much. And it's the highest time for me to read it again. Since I've first read it, I became a collector of many different editions of Jane Eyre, so I better start reading them all...

Wait for Me by Caroline Leech is my favourite book from the last year. I am completely obsessed with the story and characters of this spectacular novel. I basically wanted to re-read it from the very moment I finished it. It was amazing. And I can't wait to experience it again...

Another classic I hold very dear to my heart is I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. I've first read it when I moved to London and it helped me to overcome the difficulties of living in a different place. It's such a heartwarming and inspiring story I would recommend to every reader who indulges in beautifully written books about the simplest yet most important things in life...

I can't believe it's been more than seven years since I've read The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. Well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Unlike the main character of this book I haven't been able to stop the time. But if this story taught me anything, it's not to wish for it to stop. Because no matter what, it catches you eventually. It's the most fascinating book I've read yet. It's terrifying but brilliant. Also, this new edition is probably the only one out there that gives the book justice. Love it!

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline is one of the very few sci-fi books I've read. For some reason, it's not a genre I am usually drawn to. I am still surprised by the fact I enjoyed this book so much. After all, it's about life turning into a computer game. But I really loved it. It's a perfect example of the importance of stepping out of your comfort zone time to time. You can find your new favourites everywhere as long as you're open to trying new things. I am super excited to experience this epic adventure again and then go to the cinema and watch it come to life on the screen...

    Měj se krásně! ♥
