I've been thinking if there would be any use in continuing to write book reviews for Harry Potter, although everybody and their brother read it already. But then I decided to write them anyway. For my blog is sort of a reading journal wherein I want to write down all of my remarkable reading experiences in order to remember them. And Harry Potter is definitely one of those. As you might know, I've been reading one Harry Potter book a year and slowly making my way through the series. In January I gave myself a resolution to finish the series this year, but then I decided against it. Because I realized I like to read it seasonaly every year just before the illustrated version by Jim Kay comes out. And so I am going to stick to my tradition untill I finish the whole series. And after that I can start all over again...
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban has never been my favourite of the movies, but, as is usually the case, I loved this book the most of the series so far. One of the things I really appreciated about the third novel was that the magical world of Hogwarts was beginning to be more complex, detailed and intricate. Here is the thing I missed having watched the movies instead of reading the books. It seemed like some of the characters just dropped on the screen out of nowhere, but J. K. Rowling actually let the characters that are going to be imporatant later on to pop in this book beforehand, which I found simply awesome. I also enjoyed learning more about the history of some characters. In the Harry Potter series there's no lateral character. Everybody has their own story as well as an important partake in the whole world...
I also loved having been introduced to the new characters. I grew rather fond of Professor Lupin. I know that many readers started to love Snape after reading this book, but I personaly don't like him. In my eyes, he's still horribly mean and simply unbearable. I am definitely team Lupin. He reminded me of someone I met in London, and perhaps because of that, I enjoyed every time he came in the scene. I have to talk about the Dementors as well, for I thought the idea of them was absolutely brilliant. The description of them matched my experiences with depression perfectly. And reading about it really helped me to realize how important it is to don't give up. J. K. Rowling is such an inspiring author and her books always greatly impress me. They are so well thought out and also amazingly written. I love them to pieces...

Som šťastná, že si sa rozhodla recenzovať Harryho Pottera aj naďalej :). Vždy sa teším na každú novú recenziu na tvojom blogu a čítať, ako sa ti páčil Harry je úžasné. Je to možnosť pripomenúť si prečo to tak milujem. Čoskoro sa chystám dať re-reading celej série a tak si ma navnadila ešte viac.
ReplyDeleteInak Väzeň z Azkabanu pre mňa taktiež nebol nikdy obľúbeným filmom, no s knižkou to bol presný opak. Má neskutočnú atmosféru a milujem asi každý jeden úsek :).
Děkuju mockrát za milý komentář, Kristy. Opravdu mě těší, že tě baví číst moje "recenze". Měla jsem za to, že jsou to jedny z nejméně oblíbených článků, protože se zaměřují jen na jednu knihu. Ale pokud si najdou čtenáře i třeba jen v tobě, má pro mě cenu je psát. Takže ti moc děkuju za podporu. :-)
DeleteJe pravda že HP3 byla zatím vůbec asi nejatmosferičtější knihou v sérii. Opravdu se moc těším na čtvrtý díl, protože ten byl vždycky můj nejoblíbenější film. Beze srandy jsem ho viděla víc než dvacetkrát. A pokud bude kniha ještě lepší, tak jako to tomu bylo doposud, nemůžu se na její čtení dočkat... :-)
Já se taky hlásím jako milovník recenzí! (ale vlastně všech článků :):D), jsem moc ráda, že s Harrym pokračuješ. Byla by opravdu škoda se ochudit o taková veledíla, jen tě obdivuji, že si to dokážeš takhle šetřit :) V průběhu následujícího roku bych si chtěla některé příběhy připomenout, po pětku mám knihy přečtené nesčetněkrát, ale šestku a sedmičku jsem četla myslím jen dvakrát, tak se do nich asi pustím. Hrozně mi ten svět chybí, už to bude dva roky, co jsem si dávala re-reading právě prvních pěti :)

Děkuji moc, Hani, těší mě, že moje recenze čteš, pžestože už třeba dané knihy dávno znáš. To je od tebe vážně milé. :-) Taky se divím, že dokážu vždy počkat celý rok, než se pustím do pokračování Harryho, ale ve skutečnosti to uteče tak rychle, protože mám tolik dalších knih, ze kterých vybírat, že vlastně nikdy nestrádám. Je navíc hrozně příjemný pocit mít Harryho v zásobě. Každopádně si často pouštím videa o J. K. Rowling a taky rozhovory s ní, protože mi jéjí názry příjdou velice blízké, takže jsem tak či tak s Harrym v kontaktu v průběhu celého roku... :-)

To je krásné vydání. A trojku jsem začala mít ráda, až když jsem si ji přečetla v originále. Nevím, čím to je. Na filmu mám hodně ráda hudbu, třeba Window to the past nebo Buckbeak's flight, to vřele doporučuji. :) Ve třetím díle navíc přibylo tolik skvělých postav - Lupin, Sirius.. a Patronovo zaklínadlo.
ReplyDeleteTaky se mi tohle vydání moc líbí. Měla jsem Harryho jen v paperbacku a poslední dobou víc tíhnu ke čtení vázaných knih, tak jsem zainvestovala do téhle kolekce a užila si čtení třetího dílu v hardbacku. :-) Hudba z filmu je určitě skvělá, ale pro mě trojka stále zůstává jedním ze slabších filmů celé série. Kniha je ovšem skvělá. A Lupin je boží... :-)
