Dewey's Read-a-Thon (#4)
The weekend is finally here and with it comes the Dewey's 24 Hours Readathon. I have all my books at ready, the cookies are in the oven and my cup of tea is still warm. As you can see, I am very eager to begin with the reading, but we still have about half an hour before the official start, and so I have to be patient and wait for a little while. In the meantime, I am going play some relaxing music and try to decide with which book to start. I hope we'll all have a fantastic time during the readathon and will be relaxed and happy at the end of it... Okay, I think I can hear the oven peeping, which means that my cookies are probably done. I'd better go to check them out but I'll be back in a few minutes. Good luck with the reading...
14:00 - The time has finally come and the readathon officially began. I am going to start with my first book, which is The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame. I am just in a mood for a comforting and sweet story. And I have a feeling that this book will provide me with it...
15:45 - The time is just flying by, and I still haven't read much. There were some things I had to attend to. But I am back now with a fresh coffee, ready to dive back into the enchanting world of Mole and his friends Ratty and Toad...
17:24 - I've found myself home alone, without any interruptions whatsoever. So I hope I'll be able to finish my first book in a little while now. But first I have to feed our cat and then pull out some clothes from the dryer and fold them before they get all creased...
20:00 - I am nearly finishing up The Wind in the Willows, which is such a dear little story. It's very atmospheric, beautifully written and quite hilarious at times. I am really enjoying myself while reading it and am very curious to know the ending...
22:00 - I have finished The Wind in the Willows an hour ago and gave myself a little break. For I usually need some time for reflection before starting a new book. But I am back now, ready to start the second book of this readathon, which is A Traveller in Time by Alison Uttley...
00:02 - Okay, I am exhausted and ready to call it a day. My eyes hurt terribly, and so I think it better to go to bed and continue with the reading in the morning. Incidentally, I am loving the book. It's very beautiful and the illustrations are simply stunning...

6:30 - It's dark and raining outside. I just woke up and need a shower and strong coffee before I'll be able to do anything. I have had quite a fitful sleep full of weird dreams. Consequently, I am really tired. But I am planning on making some apple pie later in the afternoon, and I am sure it'll help me to feel better...
10:00 - I've had nice three hours of reading. I am almost finished with the second book of this readathon and am feeling much better now. We still have four hours of reading ahead of us, but I am going to have a little break from reading now and watch some videos on BookTube...
11:45 - I just finished A Traveller in Time. It was wonderful. I kind of don't want to start another book today in order to keep the feeling of this one for a little longer. But for the sake of the readathon I am going to start the third book, which is A Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge. I am super excited for it, since it is J. K. Rowling's childhood favourite...
12:58 - I have made the pie dough, which is now waiting in a fridge for later. And I am ready to read for the remaining hour as much as I can...
14:00 - The readathon has now come to an end. And I have read two books and about hundred pages from the third one. It's been a delight to spend part of the weekend with the reading and talking to you, guys. Thank you very much for your support and kind words. I am now going to make the apple pie now. I wish you all a beautiful sunday afternoon...

To ti moc přeji. Budu ti ale stejně držet pěsti, abys měla brzy nějaký víkend jen pro sebe a mohla si přečíst knihu, jakou si už dlouho přečíst přeješ. Neznám lepší způsob dobití energie. :-) Měj se moc krásně...
