Charlotte's Web is a story about little white pig that is saved by a girl called Fern from being killed with an axe. She gets up early that fatal morning and persuades her dad to let her look after the little pig. And because he loves his daughter very much, he eventually consents. And so Fern gains a little friend that she can take care of. She names him Wilbur and loves him dearly. But when he grows up, her dad decides to sales him to Fern's uncle. And that's when Wilbur starts to experience life of his own...

I am very fond of children books, and I found that my weakness for them is increasing with my advancing age even more and more. The thing is that I usually like to read stories I know already, like my beloved Winnie the Pooh by A. A. Milne. There is just something extremely comforting about returning to the Hundred Acre Wood and reading about those characters who I experienced loads of adventures with. However, by his work Mr. White proved that it is always great to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. Strange as it may seem, I had actually never read Charlotte's Web before. And I haven't even seen the movie yet. But now I know that I had been missing truly much. It was such a heartwarming story which deeply appealed to me. I loved the characters. They were so real with all of their faults and afflictions yet with greatness of their hearts that were open to each other. It was rather lovely and highly inspirational book that I am looking forward to read to my children one day to make sure that they wouldn't miss it for as long as I did.
